David Sonboly, born Ali Sonboly, was a German-Iranian who killed nine people and wounded four others at a McDonald's restaurant and the Olympia shopping mall in Munich, Germany on July 22, 2016, before committing suicide, when the police finally approached him. [1][2][3]

Sonboly had a strong hatred towards Turkish people, once making a comment social media, saying that they are terrorist and was known to have an obsession with mass shooters. He was reportedly bullied by Turkish classmates at the Toni-Pfülf-middle-school, which led to him becoming depressed and send to the Heckscher Klinikum in Munich for treatment. According to a classmate, Sonboly changed his WhatsApp profile picture to a photo of Anders Behring Breivick, a Norwegian extremist who committed a massacre on the same day as Sonboly.
