On May 24, 1997 a drunken shepherd killed four people and wounded six others in Balagansk, Russia. The man first fired with a hunting rifle at his drinking companions, and then mounted a horse and rode through the village shooting people at random, before hanging himself with his horse's bridle.[1][2][3]
