Carmen Lavera was a Cuban who killed her seven sons at a farm near Camagüey, Cuba on October 31, 1918, before setting fire to a hut containing her livestock. The 34-year-old, who was desperate, because her husband had died of influenza, then leaped into the flames, but was rescued in serious condition by soldiers.
