On the afternoon of October 31, 1984 a farm laborer killed six people and wounded another at a farm near Chrissiesmeer, South Africa.

The 35-year-old first grabbed a rock and battered to death a 22-year-old woman and her 1-year-old child, and then armed himself with a pickaxe to attack people while running 400 yards along a pathway, killing on his way two men, aged 27 and 50, two women, aged 55 and 60, as well as two dogs and two chickens. He also wounded another man, before being subdued and taken in police custody. All of his victims either lived or worked on the farm.[1][2][3]
