Santiago Basora Montejo was a Cuban who killed his wife and five children with a hatchet in Güines, Cuba on April 24, 1932. The 36-year-old, who wrote in three letters that he was desperate because of his unemployment and financial difficulties, then set his house on fire and committed sucide by hanging himself.[1][2][3][4]
