Tan Bun Soa was a Chinese tindal (coolie overseer) who killed four people and wounded at least six others in Sungai Sikasim, Asahan Sultanate, Dutch East Indies on September 17, 1910.

Tan Bun Soa, who was from Penang, was the head tindal at Hessa Estate, a tobacco company. On the evening of the aforementioned date he had a quarrel with the Chinese interpreter of the work inspection, after which he ran amok, and then escaped while the coolies took advantage of the turmoil to loot the place for money and opium. He was arrested two days later, but committed suicide in his prison cell within 24 hours by hanging himself with his towchang.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]
