On June 18, 2007 a drunken SPLA soldier killed another soldier, three women, and three other civilians, and wounded three more in Waat, Sudan, before being shot dead by one of his colleagues. The man opened fire while soldiers were celebrating the payment of their salaries for the first time in seven months.[1][2]
